The First Annual Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival was a great success!

Both viewing terms that started at 11 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon were busy and everyone in the Oakview Room enjoyed the positive community atmosphere.

After watching each of the 14 films that were submitted, the guests were given an opportunity to relax, dance and watch the performance by members of two Wasaga Beach dance studios. They also had a chance to enjoy the magnificent artworks by Wasaga artists and watch the displays from the Wasaga Beach Community Theatre and the Wasaga Beach Archives.

Later on, everybody waited for the evening Gala that started at 7 in the afternoon. All guests were welcomed by the town crier and his wife and enjoyed the impressive show performed by a fire spinner.

The results were announced shortly after when special guest presenters congratulated the film makers on their great achievements. The main prizes were Special Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival plaques and other prizes included were Wasaga Beach gift bags and cash prizes.

Right after the awards were handed out, the guests, together with the winning participants moved to the Green Room where everyone had the opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the company of the winners.
