The Ontario Government is giving grants up to $25,000 to both non-profit organizations and school groups to get down to work and clean up the shoreline around the Great Lakes.
Currently, the province is taking applications for a $1.5 million fund for projects that will bring environmental benefits to the Great Lakes or the rivers connected to them.
The online application is written in 18 pages and requires all types of information – from description and rationale for projects to working plan and budget, to giving the list of participants and their expertise, to potential challenges and much more.
Also, there is a possibility that inspectors would be sent to supervise the projects because the government wants to ensure that the funding is appropriately used.
