Hospital Fundraising Campaign in Collingwood

Published on June 21st, 2012 by in News

The hospital foundation in Collingwood has officially launched a brand new fundraising campaign in order to raise about 10 million dollars for new equipment.

Out of the total sum of money, 3.5 million dollars will go for the electronic medical records system and the other 6.5 million will be for diagnostic imaging systems.

The foundation is also planing to buy a new CT scanner and replace the old one that breaks down frequently.

Jory Pritchard-Kerr, the Hospital Foundation Executive Director, said that they hope to get the new CT scanner by fall but they first need the money. She said that about 5 million has already been raised, and it’s up to the community to help gather the rest of the money by next summer.

One event is already reserved for Canada Day celebrations in Collingwood. The community will be informed about this activity through all social media.
