Published on July 27th, 2011 by in News

The Town of Wasaga and the Town of Collingwood have announced that a transit link between these two neighbouring communities has been established and transit starts August 2, 2011. The essential purpose of this is to facilitate the commuting between Collingwood and Wasaga Beach. Tre transit link will operate as a continuous loop Monday to Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

An additional service will operate on a half hour schedule starting from Collingwood Bus Terminal at 100 Pine Street to Wasaga Beach at 45th Street at the Superstore. Designated bus stops will be put along Highway #26 between Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.

The Collingwood-Wasaga Beach link will costĀ $2.00 during the trial period. There are high hopes that this mode of transportation will be more effective and will only prove the friendly working collaboration between the two communities.

This transit link will be put on a trial test and the evaluation will be made in early December 2011, after which both towns will decide whether the link should continue in future.
