Wasaga Beach is planning to officialize the plan concerning the opening of a casino in town.
Wasaga Beach council is going to consider adopting a by-law in order to issue a memorandum of understanding between Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Clearview and Springwater Townships to set out the terms and conditions of a collaborative approach when the casino is taken into consideration.
The OLG suggested these locations as possible options because they belong to Zone C7 which is considered as an underserviced gaming area.
Since the beginning, Wasaga Beach showed an interest in opening such type of a facility, but all municipalities made a deal to work together during the process of bringing a final decision and this memorandum is going to make that official.
The OLG will be holding a closed door informative session with representatives of all municipalities probably in September.
